ALLERGIES
We have personal experience of food allergies, our sister-in-law is gluten intolerant and we have a friend with a nut allergy so we do understand the challenges for individuals affected and will do our utmost to accommodate you. We have limited the use of nuts throughout the weekly menu to a bare minimum, but you will recognise that eggs, dairy and gluten based products feature across our Alpine inspired menu and we we will do our utmost to avoid cross-contamination.
Other guests may bring food items containing nuts and other allergens so if you have a specific allergy please let us know and we will work together to mitigate any risk.
We will predominantly be buying our food locally and we will carefully manage the use of ingredients but we cannot give a 100% guarantee that allergen products have not been used and we cannot therefore accept liability in the event of an allergic reaction.
DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
The attraction of a catered chalet holiday allows guests to sit down together in the evening to enjoy delicious home cooked traditional meals.
Across the Alps access to ingredients for specific diets has improved year on year though are generally more expensive than the UK and a lot of ingredients are not readily available as they would be in the UK. We will provide alternatives such as gluten free bread, pasta, cereals, flour and alternatives to dairy products specific to your dietary needs. We will serve gluten free cakes for those with a gluten intolerance for afternoon tea and will endeavour to give as much variety of choice as possible during the week. Unlike a lot of our competitors we recognise that allergies and food intolerances are not a lifestyle choice and therefore we have elected not to charge a surcharge o for guests with allergies and food intolerances. We will also provide a vegetarian menu option to those who request it at no extra charge.
However in recognition of the significant extra costs and time involved in preparing our menu for guests following a Vegan diet we will charge a small supplement of £25 per person per week.
We regularly welcome guests who do not adequately inform us of their dietary dislikes. As a very small family run business we do our supermarket shop in Bourg Sainte Maurice every Friday morning; prices are more reasonable down in the Valley and there is far more choice available to us. Our menu is very varied and it can prove challenging (and stressful) to be presented with dislikes that we have not been told about and find suitable last minute alternatives for guests.
We kindly as that you inform us of any dietary requirements/dislikes at the time of booking for us to be fully prepared, or a minimum of 2 weeks before your holiday. Failure to inform us of any specific dietary requirements may limit the menu options available to you.
If you remain unsure, please contact us if you wish to discuss your dietary requirements further.
