MEET THE LOVES!

Julie, Richard and Sam Love
We are Julie, Rich and Sam Love and we will begin welcoming guests to The Lovely Chalet Company in December 2020.  A small independent family business; as owners of both Chalet Marmotte and Apartment 13, La Bergerie, we are able to be different - our priority is to offer you a fantastic holiday at great value for money that you will remember forever.     

We are former members of the Royal Navy; Rich was an Air Engineer Officer and Julie a Logistics Officer giving us a wealth of experience in planning, project management and hospitality.  We have both travelled across the world during our respective careers and latterly Rich worked in Naples, Italy on a NATO posting.  Living in Italy for 2 years has given Julie the opportunity to fully embrace the delights of making delicious, seasonal, home-cooked Italian food, so you will find the Chalet menu has an Italian influence to complement the rustic French alpine fare we know you will love after a hard day on the slopes.  

Passionate about skiing, Rich has spent over 10 years on the Royal Navy Alpine Championships Committee helping to organise the annual event enjoyed by in excess of 800 Naval personnel.  For the last 5 years Rich has been a Technical Delegate with GB Snowsport officiating at numerous events across the Alps, including the British Championships in Tignes.  More recently he was invited to officiate at the UK Armed Forces Alpine Championships in Méribel.  

We first bought our Apartment in Plagne Montalbert in 2005 and have visited La Plagne year on year ever since, a resort we love and we know you will too! Having skied extensively across the resort we know La Plagne intimately and will be delighted to give you tips on where to ski.  We will show you where to find the best family friendly pistes, beautiful tree-lined runs with playful characters your children will love, gentle pistes for those of a more nervous disposition and the more demanding and challenging runs for those who want an adrenaline rush!  With an increasing number of fantastic restaurants across the resort we will show you where to enjoy delicious lunches and of course the all-important Après – Rich is an expert!
Keen to give back, Julie and Rich are working in partnership with the Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team (AFPST) and have been delighted to rent the La Bergerie Apartment to the Charity for the 2019/20 season and will look for opportunities to work with them in the future.

Moving forward we are keen to work with other charities such as Blind Veterans and Snow Camp, the UK's only charity to inspire young people to excel through skiing, snowboarding, life-skill training and qualifications.
